080808 :: Your Kingdom Come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven :: A New Day for Australia in the Great Hall of Parliament House

Hilary’s testimony

Dr Hilary Moroney, director of Prayer House Ministries Australia, received a series of visions from the Lord in October 2006 when at a prayer gathering in Jerusalem.

‘We had asked God for Australia. In worship, the Lord spoke to me the specific date of 8 August (but no specific year), revealed ‘Your Kingdom Come’ as the name, and told me to prepare for the ‘King’ to come.

I saw a number of pictures that included indigenous and other groups standing in awe in the Presence of Almighty God in the Great Hall of the Parliament in Canberra. This then changed to a vision of youth standing as a cross outside on the land in front of Parliament House, and then back into the Great Hall for a glorious Bridal banquet of covenant with the Lord as Bridegroom. I heard the words ‘the market place’. Following this, I sensed we were to have further days of seminars praying for Christ’s rule and reign to come into all areas of our society; seminars praying for the call of this nation, indigenous people, business, the market place, arts, worship, healing, healthcare, families, youth and government etc. This harnessing of the power of God through prayer and action would then advance the Kingdom of God.

After my return to Australia and much prayer, and having surrendered the vision back to the Lord, I was amazed when He resurrected it in July 2007, when I was gathered with many of the same company who I had been with in Jerusalem, at a prayer gathering for the nation in Bendigo. The prophet David Swan came from Malaysia with a word for Australia ‘to get ready, that the year 2008 was strategic in the Lord’s purposes, and especially the date 08.08.08!’ My spirit leapt, and I knew this was the word of confirmation from the Lord that I had asked for; if I was to go ahead. Since then Jesus has breathed His life into the vision and opened many doors to bring it to pass for His glory.

We sense that this will be a New Day of Renewal Blessing and Breakthrough for Australia; to release Repentance, Righteousness and Reconciliation through Jesus Christ, that would bring on-going fruit for the Kingdom.

Significance of the date 08.08.08

The Bible teaches us that God rested on the seventh day and we may safely interpret the number seven as perfection and completion. The number eight follows, as the number of New Beginnings, a New Day and a New cycle of life for seed planting. It is also the day of circumcision for Jewish male babies, and the Hebrew symbol for 8 is a Gate.

Our laws in Australia today come from our great history of common law which has its roots in the Westminster system of government which comes from Great Britain. These laws in turn, can be traced back to King Alfred the Great, who introduced the concept of law to England after a long period of anarchy called the Dark Ages. It is thought that after his conquest of London from the Danes in 886 AD, King Alfred the Great laid the Biblical foundations of the common law and of Parliament in the year 888.

The date 08.08.08 is a prophetically and spiritually significant date that God has called me to convene this gathering in the Great Hall of the Federal Parliament, Canberra, to prepare the way for the coming of the King of Glory. We are to start worship at 8.00am and Covenant ourselves to Jesus at 8.00pm on 08.08.08.

Chuck Pierce, director of Glory of Zion Ministries, who has accurately predicted many occurrences in the nations, says: ‘The year 2008 is a year of New Life, New Beginnings and Momentum…..’

Lou Engel, leader of the Call repentance movement has heard the Lord’s strategy and put out a call for there to be a strategic prayer gathering to be held in every Capital City, in every nation, on the date 08.08.08.

Some experts suggest that 888 is the number for Jesus and breakthrough … the number of infinity and eternity.

Financial Prayer Strategy

In preparing in prayer for this gathering, the Holy Spirit has lead me to understand an important principle in God about worship and giving, in 1 Chron 21:18 - 1 Chron 22:1, that has challenged ‘my ideas’. I believe that God is wanting those He is calling to come to this 080808 gathering to respond to His call in faith, trusting Him and seeing Him as their provider. Our God is faithful. Here in the scripture, we find God’s response to David’s deep heart felt repentance, when he acknowledged how he had dishonoured God’s authority. God required from him obedience and sacrificial giving. This act of obedience was a catalyst to releasing God’s blessing.
In response to King David’s heart felt cry, through Gad, the angel of the Lord instructed David to go up to build an altar to the Lord on the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

Araunah was willing to simply give the threshing floor to the King at no cost, but in v 24, David said… ‘No, I insist on paying the full price, I will not take for the Lord what is yours, or sacrifice a burnt offering that costs me nothing’……. God responded to his faith filled response and the action he took, and the fire of God fell upon the altar David had built, because his heart was right with the Lord….and David prophesied that at that place of his sacrifice, would be the very place that the Temple /House of the Lord God would be established and built….for eternal purposes.

David’s sacrificial gift of paying for an altar of worship at personal cost made the way for something so much greater to be established after him, which is what we pray will be the case after the 080808 Canberra Gathering. Our prayer is that there will be lasting fruit of God’s blessing in the Parliament and the nation, that this will not be just an event, but the beginning of a new day and new wineskin of worshippers released to love, pray, obey and magnify God, so that the truth of the knowledge of His love and goodness, of who our God, the mighty creator of Heaven and Earth really is, might be released and multiplied in the hearts and minds, and through the peoples of our nation to the nations.

I believe that many people have already understood this principle of sacrificial giving to bring the breakthroughs of God, and our commitment is to pray for the Lord’s sovereign provision to be released for each person He is calling to be able to come and attend the 080808 gathering, either for the whole gathering, or the parts you are able to. Our prayer is that there will be wonderful testimonies to the Lord’s miraculous and sovereign provision as people step out in faith….and believe that Jesus will make the way for them…. then they will see the goodness of our Lord’s faithfulness to provide for them.
