Thanksgiving full report of the 080808 prayer gathering

By Dr Hilary Moroney, Conference Facilitator

The 080808 Team would like to acknowledge honour and thank the triune God who is our compassionate Father, Jesus His son, our Bridegroom, and the Holy Spirit of Truth, for coming in His power, love, beauty and holiness to encompass us in His glorious presence through out the entire time we spent together. It was a time of building the foundations of His love as we responded to the many faces of God that filled us with awe and wonder. Praise God, that through His grace, some who had been skeptical prior to the gathering, said that the 080808 gathering was overwhelmingly one of the most wonderful times they had ever had in the Parliament. We are so thankful to you Jesus!

Truly, the ‘080808 Your Kingdom Come - A New Day for Australia’ prayer gathering was a time of new beginnings, a life changing experience in God for all involved, that none of us will ever forget. How could we forget the myriad of amazing experiences that revealed the multifaceted nature of God that were reflected by His corporate Body of Christ, like through a kaleidoscope, in the diversity of expressions and creativity of His Kingdom people? Feel free to explore more in the photo gallery.

The 080808 gathering in the Great Hall of the Parliament commenced with prayer and proclamations from the word of God, as at 8.00am, together with believers in Jesus Christ from around this nation and the nations, we declared Christ’s Kingdom to Come and His will to be done here on earth as it is in heaven; Dan 7:13-14, Ps 24, Matt 6:9-15, 1 Chron 29:10-13. We were graciously welcomed by a Senator in the Parliament, after which we prayed for the Lord’s blessing on all those in positions of authority in the governments, institutions and families of our nation, to honour them. A heart felt confession was then made, as a prayer on behalf of the Bride of Christ, for how we have dishonoured our merciful God, broken covenant and been an unfaithful people to our God and to each other, and in faith we recommitted ourselves to yield to His Kingly authority; to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour in every area of our lives, through the grace and empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

We moved from deep reverential worship, full of colour, banners, dance and singing into times of corporate repentance, sometimes with tears, about foundational issues that have deeply grieved the heart of God. Then, following on with glorious triumphant times of prophetic dance, establishing Christ’s already won victory through His blood shed at Calvary, in the Great Hall of Parliament House, out on the Lawns below the Parliament and at Greenhills Conference Centre, Canberra.

In the afternoon, we joined with the youth who had been praying strategically on the mountains of Canberra during the morning of 080808, and were deeply blessed by their facilitating the cross prayer gathering, standing in the gap for the sins of the nation on the land.  All were deeply impacted by their powerful preaching and heart felt prayers, pledging their commitment to their God, to stand in Him for this nation and their generation. They were strengthened in hope by the support and commitment they felt and received from the older generation.

After the confession of the sins of the fathers according to Mal 4:5-6, there was a strategic blowing of Shofars at 3.00pm, which was 8.00am Jerusalem time on 080808. Together we sang, ‘These are the Days of Elijah’, as we joined together as one in Christ, with the trumpet call synchronised around the nations at that time. This was a trumpet call of deliverance, of warning for this new day in the Lord we have entered into, a call to prayer in preparation for the coming of the Lord.

We ended this segment with a prophetic act of kneeling on the land, wearing red to signify in faith we are covered in Christ’s blood as John 19:28-37 was proclaimed. Then we arose to stand in His righteousness and waved white banners, acknowledging what Christ said at the cross; ‘IT IS FINISHED’, that he had won the victory over the law of sin and death.  By faith in the word of God, we appropriated His already won victory over all the powers of hell and death Col 2:13-15, and moved away from the cross shaped chair formation, moving beyond the cross in the resurrection life of Christ, and processed up the land toward the Parliament in triumphant singing of the Victory of the Blood of Jesus Christ that saves and redeems us all!

At the covenant banquet and betrothal meal on the evening of 080808, we read God’s promise of betrothal to His people on scrolls from Hos 2:14-23. We sealed our agreement with the Lord to be his Bride and for Him to be our God and soon coming Bridegroom, as we drank the cup of betrothal and signed the new covenant in thanksgiving for what Christ has already accomplished for us by His grace and sacrifice, opening the gate for us to enter into the love of the Father and His new life for eternity, by the power of the Spirit of God.

There was a beautiful dance of the Bride and the Bridegroom and a procession of the flags of the nations. The Bride in all her diversity praised and worshipped our creator God and crowned Him as King. We joined together in prayer for the harvesters to be released into missions, for the salvation of souls and the furthering of the Kingdom of God in the earth. Passing under the bridal canopy we reaffirmed our allegiance, devotion and re-commitment to go out and serve the Lord; dreams that had lain latent for years were ignited, hurting hearts healed, and one brother gave his life to Jesus Christ. Praise God.

Over the weekend we experienced God’s tender-hearted healing power and mercy, and we delighted in His glory through the dawn, sunshine and snow, as we gathered together to meet with God, as He promises in His word in Isaiah 1:18:

'Come now, let us reason together', says the Lord, 'though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.’

We gathered as the fellowship of the forgiven, in His merciful love and joy, partaking in feasting and fellowship one with another at meal times at Greenhills Conference Centre, and many received deep healings from the Lord, some of which are recorded for His glory, on the testimonies page of this website.

There was authoritative biblical and world view teaching, from leaders across the nation, practically applied to strategic issues of life that are challenging our nation in this day. These issues were then prayerfully explored in seminars and the issues lifted to Christ. Please click beside the speaker’s names on the presentations page to read their speeches as an inspiration for your prayers. There were powerful times of prayer, proclamation and praise for the goodness of our God. The baton was prophetically passed on from the older generation to the younger, with reconciliation on many levels, including powerful gender healing, and restoration of right honouring and reconciliation for the Mal 4:5-6, Eph 2:12-22 and Gal 3:26-29 blessings to be realised in our land.

Many prophetic words were shared, some of which are recorded on the prophecies page of this website, for us to continue to proclaim back to God His promises that are yet to be fulfilled, for His redemptive destiny and purposes for Australia to be made manifest. Join with us and continue to pray for Christ’s Kingdom rule, reign, will and authority to prevail in Australia, for His glory to be made manifest with the ingathering of the harvest of souls, and for His glory to go out to the nations, for the blessing of future generations.
